Personality answers:
1. Who in your character's canon influenced the most growth in your character? What do they think about this character?
The person that influenced Nobara the most isn't just one character. It is several. As a young child, she was close friends with a young girl named Fumi, whom she promised to see again when she left for Tokyo. As a young girl, she idolized another girl named Saori, who came from Tokyo, but the people in her small village drove them away with hatred. When she became a student at the Tokyo Jujutsu High School, she meet her two class mates, Itadori Yuji and Fushiguro Megumi.
To Nobara, her childhood friends helped shape the way she cares for others, even if she comes off as loud and abrasive to start. When she first met her classmates, she thought that she was better than they were and that they would only hold them back. The more she worked with them and began to meet her other classmates, she began to open up a bit more and grew to care for the boys even if she chose not to really show it. Her classmates helped her open up to others and learn to rely on them and not just her own strength.
She also began to admire Maki Zenin because of her own strength in choosing to become a Jujutsu Sorcerer even while fighting against the prejudices of her own family. She wanted to have the same strength that Maki had and be able to hold her own in a world that didn't take women seriously as Jujutsu Sorcerers.
2. Explain which event in canon is most pivotal to your character's development, and who they are today.
I believe that the most pivotal event in Jujutsu Kaisen for Nobara would be a toss up between two different events. First would be the "death" of Itadori Yuji. When she first met her classmates she didn't like them at all, but learned how to work with them anyway. If she wanted to potentially find her friend in Tokyo, she needed to be able to work with her classmates on any missions that they all got sent on. When she learned about Yuji's supposed death, she became depressed, agreeing with Megumi that it was a first for them.
The other event that I would say ties as one of the most pivotal moments for her was when she lost her eye during the Shibuya incident. She chose to disobey a direct order, and went to try and help out more. That's when she came across Mahito, a cursed spirit that had been giving them problems for a long time. He could also cause body parts to explode by touch. She had to avoid his hands and was able to hold her own for a while, until she let down her guard a bit and got touched in the face.
Yuji found her with Mahito shortly after and she told him to let the others know that things weren't so bad. She thought she was going to die and as her life flashed before her, she realized she had made many close friends during her time at Jujutsu High.
3. What does your character think about physical appearances? Are they the sort to meticulously primp themselves, or could they care less?
Nobara cares quite a bit about her physical appearance. She actually dyed her hair a lighter color so that she could try and catch the attention of modeling agencies in Toyko. Nobara also loves to go shopping and cares a lot about fashion. While she is usually seen in her school uniform, she loves keeping track of the latest fashion trends in Tokyo. I believe that she would even bribe Yuji with lunch or something if he came with her when she went shopping just so that he could carry her bags.
After Yuji's death, while training for the Goodwill event with the Kyoto school, she told Mai that she would need to get some new clothes because trying to train for the games would be hard to do in her school uniform. She also got incredibly upset that Maki's twin sister, Mai, put a hole in the outfit she had on when they first met. She paid a lot of money for the clothes and didn't want them to get messed up.
4. What would your character say is their best trait? What is truly their best trait?
Nobara would say that her best trait is the fact that she takes pride in who she is and won't change who she is for others. It comes off as being arrogant and cold, but she's just not afraid to show that she is stronger than what people might think. The world of Jujutsu Sorcerers is highly misogynistic, believing that women are lesser and can't do nearly as much as men can. She doesn't need her classmates to protect her, she can hold her own during a fight, at least, for the most part. She believes that just because she's a woman doesn't mean that she can't be just as skilled as her classmates and upperclassmen.
I believe that her best trait is the fact that she cares deeply for the people around her. While it might not show so much with her teacher, she did get depressed when she was told that Yuji was dead and when she found out that he was still alive, she shed a tear and demanded an apology for what he had done to her. She cares a lot about Maki and the other second years, but it doesn't show that often. She got incredibly upset at Maki's twin sister, Mai because of her insults not only about what she was wearing, but because she was tearing Maki down as well. She also defended Maki when another Kyoto student, Momo, tried to insult her as she was close friends with Mai and knew the problems they had with their own family.
Inventory: Nobara arrives with a pouch full of nails, a small hammer with a pink heart painted on the head, a small straw doll, and her cell phone (which has no signal)
Powers/Abilities:
Cursed Energy Use: As a Jujutsu Sorcerer, Nobara has the ability to use cursed energy. It is a special type of spiritual energy that leaks from people due to negative emotions. Sorcerers are able to harness this energy for their jujutsu techniques and it makes up the bodies of cursed spirits.
Straw Doll Technique: This is Nobara's personal technique to fight cursed spirits. She channels her cursed energy through a few everyday items, a hammer, nails, and a small effigy made out of straw. She has a number of different techniques with these tools.
Resonance: Using her straw doll along with something connected to the cursed spirit, she links the cursed spirit to her straw doll and when she damages the straw doll with her hammer and nails, it causes damage to the cursed spirit, even if it isn't within her eyesight.
Hairpin: Nobara's most used technique. She imbues the nails she carries with her cursed energy. She can use that energy to guide the nails a little bit, such as allowing them to fly towards a target when struck after being tossed into the air. With a snap of her fingers, she causes the cursed energy in the nails to expand rapidly to the point where they explode, causing damage to any object or spirit that they may be in. This technique is limited by the number of nails she has on her at any given time.
Tactical Mind: Nobara is a skilled fighter and can come up with a plan to take down her opponent during the fight. She is able to quickly understand who she is going up against and come up with a plan to counter them.
Recklessness: Nobara's tactical mind can lead her to being rather reckless at times. During her fight with the Death Paintings, she used her own body in order to use Resonance against one of the Death Paintings. She didn't hesitate to drive nails into her own arm to be able to attack the Death Painting because he had said that his blood was in her body due to his own technique.
Skilled Fighter: Nobara is a skilled fighter, able to hold her own against many different kinds of cursed spirits and sorcerers. Her training under Maki and Panda made her an even better close quarters fighter.
Samples: Here with Megumi & Here with Geto
Player Goals: I won't deny it, part of the reason I want to play here is so that the Jujutsu Kaisen cast has more players, but I also want to explore Nobara's relationships with Gojo and Megumi outside of the world of Jujutsu Sorcerers. I also want to see how she would react and grow around people who don't know anything about cursed spirits, cursed energy and jutusu sorcerers. I want her to make new friends who aren't someone she goes to school with.
Soul Choice: I like Glire, but I am willing to go with anything if the mods want to go with something else.
